part-time or freelancing (work at home)

The Job market today is full of opportunities that differ not only in scope, benefits and incentives but also in their work hours. Job seekers have the option of taking up jobs that suit, style &  expertise!

There are two main options -- working on a part-time basis or freelancing -- working on a project basis where a fixed amount of work is outsourced to a freelance professional. For example, students who want to become financially independent can easily opt for a part time job and balance their education and financial needs very well.

Many companies offer part time jobs that have convenient work hours. Students who have a couple of free hours during the day or even at night can easily benefit from these part time jobs. From telemarketing to data entry, the choices of part time jobs in Bombay Delhi, India are unlimited and generally pay quite well.

Besides part time jobs, the concept of freelance jobs is picking up in India as well. The transition and acceptance, though slow, is making its presence felt. Many job seekers with expertise in their field offer their services as freelancers. The whole concept of freelance revolves around flexibility and working on one's own terms.

The association between a freelancer and a Company (client) can be very rewarding and fulfilling provided that both parties understand and respect each others terms. Freelancers primarily work within their own setup / SOHO and provide their services either on a project basis or on a monthly retainer with the Company.

Companies outsource specific projects and benefit from hiring freelancers as they can be "hired when required", thus reducing overheads and unnecessary burden. In order to make sure that work progresses smoothly in such a situation, certain things must be kept in mind:
A person who takes up work on a free lance basis must make his / her work terms very clear to the client right in the beginning. Respect for client's time, deadlines and quality expectations should be maintained at all times.
A Company must understand and respect the fact that when they hire a freelancer they are outsourcing a job - please give them the space and freedom to work.. Don't expect them to spend time with you like a full time employee!!!!!!!!!!
Once both parties have discussed their terms and conditions, the agreement should be kept and respected throughout the course of their association.
Freelancing is a great career option that offers you the flexibility of doing what you want at your own pace and terms. It can make for a rewarding choice for both the freelancer and the company hiring his/her services
